Lunda
Lunda lies within the greater Ruaha Valley ecosystem, one of the most significant elephant habitats in Africa and part of the vast protected landscape bordering Ruaha National Park — the largest national park in East Africa. Situated along the eastern boundary of the Ruaha system, Lunda is widely regarded as one of Tanzania’s premier elephant hunting areas. Thanks to careful wildlife management and strictly limited quotas, Lunda also offers exceptional opportunities for Lion and Leopard, along with outstanding Sable, Greater Kudu, and Cape Buffalo.

Every safari in Lunda is planned with close attention to seasonal conditions and species-specific movement patterns, ensuring the best possible timing for your chosen hunt. Hunting pressure here is intentionally kept very low, and Lunda is reserved for a small number of highly exclusive safaris each season. This remarkable area stands as one of Tanzania’s true hunting gems, best suited to the discerning and experienced hunter seeking a classic, wild Ruaha Valley experience.

Temperatures in Lunda vary throughout the season and even across the course of a single day. Midday highs can reach around 90°F (32°C), with general daytime averages near 75°F (23°C). From September through November, conditions become hotter, with averages closer to 80°F (26°C), while evenings and early mornings can cool to around 60°F (16°C).
